Tell us a little about yourself and your role at the Trust.

My name is Georgina Hawes, mostly known on the team as George. I work within the Education and Training Department dealing with the Leadership Plus programme, talent management and assisting with support and development of new and existing members of staff. I am also the Chair for the Women's Network, an Employee Wellbeing and Freedom to speak up Champion and a Mental Health First Aider.

Since joining the Trust, how have you felt supported in your role?

I am fairly new to the Trust and joined just over a year ago, and from the time I started, my journey has been supported by my team members and senior managers in the team. They have assisted my development by informing me of courses and gathering information to help me along the way; Also sharing their knowledge and personal experiences with me to allow better awareness of different elements of the Trust.

You lead the Woman's Network here at SPFT. How have you found having a space like this for women to get together in the workplace has been?

Leading the Women's Network is an absolute honour. Having a workplace that provides an open, supportive, inclusive and welcoming safe space for Women has been highly rewarding for our members, and new members join us every month. I am excited to see the positive changes that have been made in policies and various new support groups created from discussions within our Network.

Over the past 15yrs, you have been involved in many projects that have focused on inspiring and supporting women of all ages and cultures inside and outside the workplace. How has this helped shape our Women's Network?

Over the past 15 years, I have been fortunate enough to support women and girls of all ages and cultures through health or life choices. This experience has helped me and our Core Group Team shape the direction of the Women's Network. We look at different elements of life and try to make sure we have given the Network the space to learn, be aware or share awareness or experiences. We have created a RoadMap for our members to enable them to look forward to the coming year.

What would you want to say to any woman reading and considering joining the Trust?

For those of you that are interested in joining the Women's Network, We're an open, inclusive, welcoming network. The Network aims to provide a supportive, listening environment to all members and help facilitate action and response to issues raised. We provide a safe space for you to discuss concerns, ideas and ambitions – and support you to resolve and achieve! The Network celebrates the richness women bring to the workplace and the wealth of experience they bring with them.
