At Sussex Partnership, our staff networks are a great resource to ensure everyone feels valued and has a place to speak to people with similar life experiences. Not only this, but our networks help shape and direct the conversation to be more inclusive and provide a way for senior management and staff groups to speak about issues they may face. This is why we are excited to add our Armed Forces Staff Network to the list we can offer our staff at the Trust.
Led by Andy Stubbs (Major), who is an active Armed Forces Covenant Lead Manager, the network aims to provide a space for staff to come together who have experience in the Armed forces (be it from them or a family member/ friend serving) or an interest in supporting members of the Armed Forces Community. In the meetings, network members can come together, share stories, and gain support for any issues they may be dealing with, along with helping shape the care we provide and the Trust. The meetings are held via Zoom (so you can join from anywhere) and take place from 1 - 2 pm on the first Wednesday of the month. You're welcome to come along and stay for as long or as short as you wish.
Most recently, the network came together to take part in the Army In The South East Challenge Day. The day had network members participate in various activities designed to encourage collaboration and communication within a team. It allowed our staff to test individual leadership, resilience and communication skills. Everyone worked together and completed various tasks, from physical training sessions to vehicle recovery, to intelligence and survival suits for maritime operations.
