Volunteering at Sussex Partnership
At Sussex Partnership, we want to make sure that we can give everyone the chance to do something good for the community. This is why we offer the opportunity to Volunteer with us at the Partnership. This can be via work experience or by helping us make the lives of our service users a bit brighter.
Our Volunteer Service at the Partnership offer you the chance to do some real change for your community along with helping improve our service users' lives. Anyone can sign up to join our Volunteer Service, the only requirements we ask is that you are 18 years old or over (there is no upper age limit!) and that you will be able to volunteer on a regular basis (minimum of once a week for 6 months). While volunteering with us, you will participate in a wide range of non-clinical activities across the Trust; such as listening and chatting to service users, participating in board games, quizzes, crosswords, gardening, arts or musical activities. When you sign up to join our Volunteer team, we will provide online training to ensure you get up to speed with our trust values and guidelines. In addition to this, we can help cover travel expenses if needed. We want to make sure you can be the best you can, not worrying about getting to our sites. We welcome volunteers from all areas of our diverse community who feel they have something to offer to help us make sure that the service we provide to our patients can be the best it can be.
For those who want to start a career in the mental health sector, we also offer work experience. One of the main work experience opportunities we offer is our on-demand virtual work experience for Allied Health Professionals. Allied Health Professionals provide trust-wide care to assess, treat, diagnose and discharge patients across social care, housing, education, and independent and voluntary services. Their focus is on the prevention and improvement of the health and wellbeing of our service users so that they live the best life they can within their family circles, social networks, education/training and the workplace. Working with Springpod, we offer a free virtual work experience programme, where you can receive 10 hours of virtual experience of what it's like to work as an Allied Health Professional in the Trust. The course is open to students between 14 to 25 years olds who are interested in learning more about a career within our 14 AHP professions. To find a work experience opportunity with a service in your local area, please contact the service directly. You can find your local services by visiting our find a service webpage.
