Each year we try to make the Christmas period special for our service users. Whether it's covering our sites with Christmas decorations to bring a bit of extra sparkle or hosting parties blasting out the cheesy Christmas hits we all know and love. We want to bring joy to all users who come to us for treatment. Our charity Heads On is leading the activities this year and getting staff at our sites and your workplace to have some fun.
When people come for treatment at the Selden Centre, we aim to provide a place where they feel supported and trusted. We spoke to Kelvin Tunha about his role as a shift leader and how using the least restrictive practice method has improved user time at the centre.
When treating mental health, we use many tools at the Trust. One of our biggest is getting our service users out into the great outdoors. Find out what we are doing to improve our environmental impact at the Trust.
Being a healthcare support worker is an incredibly rewarding job. Healthcare support workers care for service users on a day-to-day basis. They are central to running Sussex Partnership, supporting nurses, doctors and other staff to provide top-quality care. Each day our outstanding support staff work with users and help support their personal and mental wellbeing and improve their lives. As part of Nursing support worker day on Wednesday, November 24th, we spoke to Mandy Burton, the interim Chief Nursing Officer at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust. Mandy started her career with us as a support worker on one of our wards in Hampshire before climbing the ranks and ending up in her current role.
When our service users leave our sites to continue their recovery journey, it's vital that we offer support. Our Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team help our users transition and provide support in treatment in a Community setting. We spoke to Jason Linskey, a Community Mental Health Nurse at the trust, about his role and the importance of taking notes.
