Working in adult mental health services

Our mental health services provide care and treatment for people with conditions such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, dementia and personality disorder in a variety of settings, including; people’s homes, specialist clinics, hospitals and GP surgeries. Our specialist teams help individuals, their families and carers, when they are experiencing emotional wellbeing or mental health difficulties. We work closely in partnership with other agencies to support the clinical needs of people we service.

We work hard to ensure that all of our teams are trained in helping individuals using our services to acknowledge and understand why they might be feeling and behaving in a certain way, and support them in their recovery to overcome these difficulties with the most appropriate course of treatment.

We listen

As the needs of our communities are constantly changing, we are doing everything we can to make sure that our services reflect this, and we are always developing innovative ways to ensure we continue to deliver high quality care. We interact with our service users, their families, carers, friends and other partners regularly to ensure we are meeting their needs and providing the most suitable services. Our growing Sussex Mental Healthline is an example of this as we increase our capacity to provide advice and signposting over the phone, making our services more accessible to a greater number of people.
