Are you looking to 'Return to Practice'?
We know that returning to nursing is a big decision and things might have changed since you left. But now really is a good time to return.
Whether you left the nursing profession a long time ago, or more recently, we will support you through the return to practice programme – a period of updating so that you can return to work and re-register.
On successful completion of the programme you will be supported to apply for a post at Sussex Partnership and we will offer you continuous professional development either through our Preceptorship Programme or other ongoing continuing professional development study days or courses.

Our nursing Return to Practice (RTP) programmes are provided at the University of Brighton.
These are part-time programmes designed to meet your professional needs; help you regain your skills, experience and knowledge to enable you to reactivate your NMC registration. You will be required to do a minimum of 150 hours in a clinical placement to practice your skills and be assessed by a Practice Assessor who will support you through the clinical aspect of the programme to achieve competence.
If you are accepted to study at one of our partner universities and you successfully secure your practice placement with us you can expect:
- Your course fees paid for
- Support in finding a placement
- Your clinical placement will be supernumerary
- To receive theory and clinical-based training
- To be allocated a Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor to support your practice experience
