
The Department of Psychiatry, set alongside Eastbourne's District General Hospital, has three on-site inpatient wards for adults with mental health problems; Heathfield Ward, Amberley Ward & Bodiam Ward.
At the Department of Psychiatry, our wards provide opportunities to deliver patient-centred holistic care, working closely with OT’s, psychologists and doctors in supporting patients in their recovery. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, with regular supervision, excellent leadership and superb teamwork, we will do everything we can to enable you to take your career where you want it to go.
You will experience a high sense of job satisfaction, helping people adjust and recover from acute mental health issues in the later stages of life.
We work flexibly in order to meet the needs of our 24-hour service, to include evenings, nights and weekends, which brings increased pay rates for unsocial hours as detailed under the Agenda for Change guidelines.

Heathfield Ward is an 18-bedded all-female integrated functional acute mental health ward, providing care for predominantly older aged adults.
Amberley is a ward for women with some shared bays and some individual rooms.
Bodiam Ward is an 18-bed ward for men, comprised of shared bays and some individual rooms.
