Our Estates and Facilities (E&F) teams work pro-actively to look after circa 110 buildings with the aim of achieving a consistently high standard of accommodation for patients and staff whilst managing resources effectively.
Our estate comprises of approximately 96,000m2
- 54 Freehold properties
- 43 Leasehold properties
- 6 Private Finance Initiative (PFI) properties
This includes 45 inpatient wards & homes with a total of circa 702 beds, some 73 community team bases and 30 corporate buildings.
The Estates and Facilities department is responsible for managing our buildings, capital projects, the operational capital programme, domestic, catering and hotel services. As well as providing strategic planning across the estate and associated services, the department takes a leading role in ensuring we make sustainable choices and continuously reduce our carbon impact.
We employ over 200 full time equivalent staff across our estates and facilities services, representing one of the largest staff groups. Our team includes electrical, plumbing and mechanical engineers, helpdesk and technical coordinators, cleaning, catering and courier staff in addition to asset and facilities managers.
