The Selden Centre is a 10 bedded service for adults with learning disabilities based at Swandean Hospital which is the headquarters of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Our service provides assessment, treatment and interventions for people diagnosed with a learning disability who are presenting with behaviour that challenges, frequently with risk of harm to self or others, which cannot be safely managed within a community setting.
We place a strong emphasis on the delivery of high-quality evidence-based, person-centred care with a focus on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), wellbeing and recovery delivered within the least restrictive environment required to support the provision of safe and therapeutic care. Our patients and carers are encouraged to take a full and active part in their treatment whilst in hospital.
