Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) works with young people aged 10-18 with Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa and their families, and supports recovery through Evidence Based Interventions such as Maudsley Family Therapy models and E-CBT. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality evidenced based treatment in accordance with NICE Guidelines and National Access and Waiting Time Standards.

The service is comprised of a highly skilled and experienced multi-disciplinary team of clinicians including:

  • Systemic Psychotherapists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Paediatricians
  • Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists
  • Nurses
  • Support Workers
  • Dietitians
  • Social Workers
  • With support from an outstanding administration team

We work with families to put together a treatment plan that considers individual circumstances and needs, to help young people make the best possible recovery. It may include regular family meetings (weekly at first, reducing as things improve), individual sessions, group treatment sessions with the whole family and parent/carer skills workshops.
