Education and training programmes

We provide high-quality education in medicine, nursing, psychology and psychological therapies, occupational therapy, social care and other aspects of wellbeing and healthcare and work in partnership with Brighton & Sussex Medical School, the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton

We offer a broad training programme for junior doctors with opportunities for honorary appointments at the medical school and for teaching trainees and students in clinical settings.

We deliver a preceptorship programme for nurses and offer a broad range of options for continuous professional development, through internal and external training, to support our staff to develop clinical, leadership and research skills.

Career opportunities

We offer a range of clinical and non-clinical career opportunities at Sussex Partnership - find out more about the different roles we have available

Leadership training and development

A career at Sussex Partnership offers many opportunities to develop as a leader. Leadership Plus is our own inhouse training programme run over two years. We also sponsor staff to participate in the training programmes delivered by the NHS Leadership Training Academy designed to help you grow as a leader.

The Sussex Partnership Health and Care Academy

Sussex Partnership's Health and Care Academy works in partnership with colleges and sixth forms to offer training opportunities in real-life hospital settings to enable students to transition into a healthcare programme at university and for a career with the NHS.

The aims of the Academy are to provide opportunities for people of all ages and from all backgrounds across Sussex to join the trust and start their NHS career with Sussex Partnership.

Students are mentored by our Health Care Support Workers who can give students the experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting for mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services.

This programme is available to students studying the Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Nursing and Healthcare Professions at GB Met
