People are at the heart of everything we do. We want people - our service users, families and carers, our staff and partners - to feel valued and cared for and for our staff to feel part of a team, where everyone is welcome and accepted for who they are.
Values-driven
Our values guide the way we behave and how we want people to experience Sussex Partnership. They are:
- People first
- Embracing change
- Future focused
- Working together
- Everyone counts

Our People and Culture Plan
We can only deliver high quality care, and achieve positive outcomes, for the people who use our services by recruiting and retaining a high-quality workforce.
Read our People and Culture Plan which sets out our priorities for the next two years to grow and develop our workforce so that we are best placed to respond to the increasing need in our communities.
Training and development
As a University Trust, we're committed to supporting our staff at all levels of the organisation to develop in their professional field. This ensures we can provide the most effective, compassionate, safe care for the people who use our services.

Working in partnership
We collaborate closely across health and care on behalf of the patients, families, carers and local communities we serve. We work with the people who use our services, the voluntary sector, housing and employment agencies.
We're part of Sussex Health and Care Partnership. This is about working in partnership as a system to improve care and treatment for the local communities we serve. We have a partnership agreement with the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Sussex to design and deliver services to achieve the best outcomes for our communities.
As the lead organisation of four Provider Collaboratives, we're also responsible for commissioning specialist children's mental health services in Kent, Sussex, Dorset and Hampshire, as well as adult secure services in Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
We have a charity called Heads On which helps people with mental health problems and learning disabilities feel supported, stay active and be more involved in their communities.
Our Green Plan
Our Green Plan is our commitment to reduce our impact on the environment, deliver lower carbon, more sustainable care and meet the NHS net zero carbon emissions target by 2040. Find out what we are doing to achieve our net zero target.
